Microsoft have launched a new Surface laptop that will compete with the MacBook Air
The new Surface laptop will go on sale on 15th June, with a starting price of $999 (£770). Microsoft also revealed there is a new edition of Windows 10 which will be aimed at school and designed to run on low-cost computers.
Microsoft Surface boss Panos Panay has stated that the new laptop is lighter than the MacBook Air, and will run the new Windows 10S operating system. The device has been designed with school leavers taken into consideration.
The new Windows 10S promises more secure virus protection and better battery life - up to 14 hours. The laptop is described as light, thin and elegant. The Surface range of devices has proved incredibly popular since it first launched back in 2012.
