In May 2022, on track for 30 per cent YoY revenue increase, Core has appointed Neil Cross, former Managing Director of Advanced 365, as Non-Executive Chairman to support the senior management team in their accelerated growth and business maturation goals.
Cross’ experience includes serving as Managing Director of Chorus Software for 22 years, transitioning the business through a number of acquisitions and serving on the board of Computer Software Group for five years following its acquisition of Chorus. After taking a year out to travel with his family, Cross returned to take on the role as Managing Director of Business Systems Group (BSG) in 2009, following its acquisition by Advanced Computer Software Group earlier that year.
Having managed a business unity with over 300 employees and a managed services turnover of more than £50 million, Cross brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to help unlock the potential of the senior management team, and wider business, as Core accelerates on its acquisition path in 2022.
Cross’ experience at Advanced 365 included the successful integration of a number of acquisitions, whilst at the same time, supporting his team with the consolidation of a number of bespoke client platforms into a single ‘build it once’ cloud environment that contributed to Advanced 365’s significant growth. With goals to expand its geographic footprint and Microsoft modern workplace capability, Core has identified potential acquisition targets in 2022 and will utilise Cross’ merger and acquisition experience to drive this agenda.
Core CEO, Conor Callanan, commented, “I’m pleased to bring Neil into the #OneCore family to help us achieve our goals of accelerated growth, both strategic and organic, as well as utilising his experience in maturing businesses for sustainable growth through strategic investment. We’re a close-knit family at Core, with excellent talent retention. We have a number of employees who have been with us for a long time and know our business and our customers really well, but it’s also good for us to have some new blood in the team. I believe Neil will help us to think differently and be able to innovate faster so we can better serve our customers.”
Cross responded, “I am grateful for the warm welcome from the Core team, and I’m looking forward to what we will achieve together. I’m thrilled to be able to support the Core team in the accelerated achievement of their goals. I am selective about who I choose to work with, and I genuinely believe in the potential at Core.”
