We are delighted to announce that our Microsoft Solution Specialist, Kat Greenan, has been awarded the Microsoft Most Valued Professional (MVP) Award! The Microsoft MVP award is given to technology experts who passionately share their knowledge with the tech and broader community. There are less than 4,000 MVPs in 90 countries, only 254 in the UK and Kat is one of just 42 who have received the award for Office 365 Apps and Services!
Kat’s journey to MVP has involved sharing knowledge and getting involved building a brand and reputation in the online tech community for the last 18 months. Kat has been blogging, podcasting and presenting at global conferences, in addition to her role and responsibilities as Microsoft Solution Specialist at Core Technology Systems.
Kat commented, “I'm honoured and humbled to receive the Microsoft MVP award. I’m looking forward to contributing as part of the MVP community and continuing to share my knowledge and passion for all things Microsoft.”
Kat receiving the award for MVP means she will be privy to what’s coming next from Microsoft in advance of the wider community, as she continues to be a valuable knowledge resource for Core, and our customers, through her involvement and knowledge sharing in the Microsoft tech community.
Kat has been a speaker on Microsoft products and solutions at over 20 conferences around the world, writes a blog called collabwithkat.com (we recommend you subscribe for lots of tips and tricks!), and is the co-host for the Cloud Conversations podcast where she talks with other MVPs and guests from the tech community about Microsoft 365 and the modern workplace.
Kat writes articles for petri.com and Practical 365 and also produces demo videos for YouTube. Recently, Kat has started a TikTok account, to reach a wider audience and cover topics such as what it’s like working as a woman in tech, and her advice on presenting and public speaking.
Kat’s manager and Core’s Chief Commercial Officer, Rye Austin, commented, “I know how much hard work Kat has put in over the past 12 months, and this award is truly well-deserved. All of us at Core are very proud of Kat and her achievement, and she is a very valued member of our team, always willing to share her knowledge and driving further value for our customers.”
When asked what advice Kat would give to anyone else striving for a Microsoft MVP award, Kat said, “you shouldn’t just do it to get an MVP award and recognition for giving back to the community – because it won’t last. It needs to be something you are genuinely passionate about. If you’re passionate about getting involved in the tech community, always learning and giving back, then MVP status will just become part of that. The journey doesn’t end at the award, it just picks up and there is even more to do, to learn and to share!”
